About our Principal

Linda Poulton

BA(HONS) LLB(HONS)

Linda Poulton is originally from Burnie, on North West Coast of Tasmania. She is a graduate of the University of Tasmania, having completed her Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 1991 and her Bachelor of Laws (Hons) in 1998.

Linda first worked in the areas of commercial property and litigation for 3 years from 1999 at a Sydney based global law firm. Subsequently, she worked for 3 years at a boutique Sydney law firm, specialising in administrative law, property law, litigation and Aboriginal land rights.

Linda then moved to the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council, NSW’s peak Aboriginal land rights body, where she was the Principal Legal Officer until 2007.

Linda returned to Tasmania in 2007 to work in-house at the University of Tasmania, living in the Huon Valley between 2009 and 2019, before relocating to Westbury.

After founding Poulton Lawyers & Consultants in Cygnet, Linda aimed to provide a highly personalised legal service to people in her local region. This focus has continued to her current location of Westbury.

Linda’s aim is to create a modern, progressive law practice with a particular focus on the local economy and community.
